Our Favorite Vet

Dr. Brim was born and raised on a farm in central Iowa where she was avidly involved in 4-H, showing Holstein dairy cattle, chickens, and Arabian Horses. She grew up raising and caring for a variety of farm animals, cats, dogs, and the occasional wild animal. When she was not busy doing chores or riding horses, she was busy helping her family raise and preserve the bulk of their food.

Dr Brim earned her B.S. in Genetics in 1987, becoming the first person to graduate from low State University in this degree program. During her undergraduate years, Dr Brim worked in the Genetics Laboratory on campus and lowa State University Dairy Farm. She worked for one year post graduation as a Genetics Engineer prior to pursuing her passion in Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with her Doctorate in 1991 and remained at Iowa State to complete a Master’s degree in Nutritional Physiology in 1992.

Dr Brim has practiced large and small animal medicine, was Plant Veterinarian for the pharmaceutical and vaccine company Fort Dodge Animal Health, and has owned and operated her own traditional and holistic mobile large and small animal practice before moving to Nevada to get specialized training in Holistic Veterinary Medicine. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture, Canine Massage Therapy and Veterinary Medical Manipulation (Chiropractic).

When she is not at work she enjoys rock hounding, hiking with her dogs, riding her horse and camping and skiing with her family.

Dr. Brim has retired from Veterinary care but she will answer questions submitted from this website in regards to pet nutrition.
